A chilling double murder was reported at a South Delhi apartment late Friday night, leaving a father and son dead and another family member injured, sending shockwaves through the CR Park neighbourhood. Reportedly, a long-running dispute between neighbours escalated into violence, culminating in the killing of the 62-year-old man and his 27-year-old son inside their residence at Tara Apartments.

According to police, information was received at PS CR Park around 9:30 pm on April 17 from a hospital in Saket after three injured persons were brought in by relatives.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal said, “Upon examination, the father, Rakesh Sood and son Karan Sood were declared brought dead by the doctors while the cousin, Rahul, sustained injuries and was found to be under treatment.”
Police said the victims had been shifted to Max Super Speciality Hospital in Saket from Tara Apartments in the Alaknanda-CR Park area.

Preliminary investigation has pointed to an old dispute as the trigger for the killings. Police said the violence stemmed from a “long-standing enmity arising out of previous disputes” between the families.
The accused, identified as Asad, lives in the same apartment complex and allegedly attacked the victims with a sharp-edged weapon following a confrontation.
“The accused Asad, a resident of the same apartment, who attacked the victims with a sharp object, has also been identified and detained,” DCP Mittal said.
Residents were in panic and confusion in the immediate aftermath of the incident. A neighbour said, “I just found out, so the police are conducting an inquiry here, and it’s been learned that a father and son have been murdered. They were killed by stabbing with a knife, and it’s their neighbour who committed the murder.”
The resident added, “And there are other family members who are currently injured. Police are all busy investigating right now; no full confirmation has been received yet.”

Police have registered an FIR under relevant sections and detained the accused. Officials said forensic teams are examining the crime scene, and statements of witnesses and family members are being recorded.
Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack. DCP Anant Mittal said the case is being closely monitored and assured that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a thorough probe.
