Questioning the logic behind Akhilesh Yadav mentioning Delhi Chief Minister while speaking during the Lok Sabha debate, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said the Samajwadi Party chief should have refrained from such personal remarks.

Taking a dig at Yadav and his party, Sachdeva said everyone is aware how much respect they have for women in politics, or otherwise, but the leader must refrain from speaking on women.

The Delhi BJP chief said Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is a self-made established politician and a public representative of the people of the national capital. She enjoys all the powers that former CMs Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma, Sheela Dixit, and Arvind Kejriwal had and is running Delhi government with full confidence.

He also said that soon after assuming power in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi enhanced the dignity of women by ensuring the construction of toilets in every village and every household, giving them a new sense of self-respect. PM Modi had then empowered women through self-employment schemes, and today, by introducing in Parliament the 33 per cent women’s reservation under the Nari Shakti Adhiniyam in the house and state legislatures, he has ensured women’s participation in country’s policymaking and development.
Sachdeva said the way leaders of Opposition parties allegedly attempted to obstruct the historic legislation even today is condemnable.

Sachdeva stated that April 16, 2026, is one of the golden days’ in the nation’s history.
He said that over the past 79 years, women in the country have contributed fully to the nation-building of independent India, however, Congress, along with its allies such as Samajwadi Party and RJD, never provided them with adequate representation in power, the BJP leader alleged.
