A clinical all-round performance from Gujarat Titans saw them cruise to a seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in Match 19 of IPL 2026 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The victory was set up by a disciplined bowling effort led by Prasidh Krishna, who returned with outstanding figures of 4/28, before Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler anchored a comfortable chase of 165.

LSG post 164/8 after late surge
Asked to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a brisk start, racing to 60/2 in the powerplay. Mitchell Marsh provided early impetus with a quick 11 off four balls before falling to Kagiso Rabada, while Rishabh Pant added a lively 18 off 11 deliveries before being dismissed by Mohammed Siraj.
Aiden Markram then steadied the innings with a composed 30 off 21 balls, but Gujarat kept striking at regular intervals. Prasidh turned the game in GT’s favour during the middle overs, removing Markram with a sharp short ball and breaking the backbone of LSG’s innings.
The hosts struggled to build partnerships thereafter, with Nicholas Pooran (19 off 21), Abdul Samad (18 off 22), and Ayush Badoni (9) failing to accelerate as Gujarat’s bowlers tightened the screws.
At 120/6 in the 17th over, LSG were staring at a below-par total. However, a spirited late fightback helped them recover. Mukul Choudhary (18 off 14) and George Linde (16 off 10) injected momentum, while Mohammed Shami provided the finishing touches with a six and a boundary in an 18-run final over, pushing LSG to 164/8.
Apart from Prasidh’s four-wicket haul, Ashok Sharma (2/32) and Siraj (1/19) offered strong support, though Rabada proved expensive, conceding 54 runs in his four overs.
Gill, Buttler make light work of chase
In response, Gujarat Titans approached the chase with composure. Sai Sudharsan fell early for 15, but that was the only success LSG enjoyed in the powerplay as GT reached 52/1 in six overs.
Gill then took charge, producing a fluent 56 off 40 balls. He mixed elegance with authority, notably taking on Shami in a 20-run over that swung momentum decisively in GT’s favour.
At the other end, Buttler accelerated after a steady start, unleashing a boundary spree in the middle overs. He brought up his 100th T20 half-century in just 34 balls and went on to score a match-winning 60 off 37 deliveries, striking 11 fours.
The pair’s commanding partnership all but sealed the contest, taking GT to 128/1 by the 14th over and ensuring the required rate never became a concern.
Though LSG managed to pick up the wickets of both set batters in quick succession, the damage had already been done. Rahul Tewatia (10* off 8) and Washington Sundar (21* off 13) calmly guided the team home, with Sundar finishing the match in style.
Gujarat Titans eventually reached 165/3 in 18.4 overs, continuing their strong run in the tournament with a well-rounded performance.
