In the first phase, the focus has been placed on 10 modern cow shelters where care, protection, and welfare of stray and abandoned cows will be ensured.
The government has set the target of developing 40 modern ‘gaushalas’. These cows shelters will be equipped with all necessary facilities.
The Chief Minister said that the initiative reflects her government’s “cultural consciousness and compassion”.
The move is also expected to contribute to improved sanitation by effectively managing cattle waste while also generating clean energy from cow dung.
