Delhi CM Rekha Gupta slams AAP over ‘corruption and incomplete projects’

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday launched a sharp attack on the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of financial indiscipline, corruption, and leaving key public projects unfinished across the national capital.

Addressing the Delhi Assembly, Gupta alleged that irregularities under the former AAP regime continue to surface, claiming that “every day, a new file is opened and a new scam comes to light.” She said these issues have severely impacted governance and public trust.

The Chief Minister highlighted multiple civic concerns, stating that despite funds being spent, several infrastructure projects remain incomplete. Roads, hospitals, and school buildings, she said, were left unfinished even after payments were made to contractors.

The CM also questioned AAP’s claims of transforming Delhi’s education and healthcare systems, calling them “misleading” in light of the alleged ground reality.

‘Focus was on politics, not governance’

The Delhi CM accused the previous government of prioritising political confrontation over governance. According to her, instead of delivering basic amenities, the administration was engaged in blaming the Centre, the Prime Minister, the Lieutenant Governor, and even its own officials.

The CM assured the Assembly that her government would ensure accountability for every rupee spent. “Public money will be respected, and every unfinished project will be completed,” she said.

She added that her administration would focus on delivering results rather than making excuses, signalling a shift in governance approach.
