Mamata Banerjee Trinamul Congress chairperson said the party believes in work for the people of the state and in the past 15 years massive development has taken place in the state.
“We will complete 15 years in the state government but before that we can say we have touched all the areas and massive development has taken part in Bengal during this period. We believe in work but time has come to inform the people about our work and hence we are bringing out this Manifesto 2026.”

Miss Banerjee released the Manifesto 2026 at her residence in Kalighat this afternoon.
The Manifesto 2026 said Bengal’s nominal GDP has grown almost six times in the last 15 years and the average per capita income has tripled in the same period. The state government has lifted 1.72 crore people out of poverty. Bengal’s productive capital expenditure increased by 18 times, while the physical sector expenditure grew by seven times in the last 15 years. The unemployment rate has gone down by 45.65 per cent in six years as per the government of India report. The revenue deficit as 0 per cent of GDP is expected to be reduced from 3.75 per cent in 2010-11 to 1.01 per cent in 2026-27.
The state government has pledged to make Bengal the 3rd largest economy in the country in the next 10 years. Bengal has seen double digit growth for the last two fiscal years (2024-25 and 2025-26) at an average of 10.5 per cent, the steady pace of growth will ensure Bengal’s ascension into the top three economies in the country. Bengal will emerge as Rs 40 lakh crore economy in the next 5 years. A state of the art global centre, the dense river and deep sea port network, new logistics hubs will come up make Bengal the gateway of trade for the whole of eastern India.
Kolkata consistently features as the safest city in India. At 83.9, the city records the lowest rate of cognizable crimes among all Indian metropolitan cities, significantly below the national average. The state government will strengthen policing and public safety through administrative expansion and technology led reforms.’
Miss Banerjee said: “The state government will continue to serve the people and ensure that an all round development takes place in our future generation and they will be No. 1 everywhere.”
