A local court here has issued arrest warrants against four accused, including a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Subodh Agrawal in connection with the over ₹960 crore Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scam in Rajasthan.

The ACB Special Court, Jaipur No. 1, issued non-bailable warrants on Friday against the four untraced accused after they failed to appear before the court or the investigating agency, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), in response to earlier summons.

ACB sleuths have been making efforts to trace and arrest the accused in compliance with the court order. Raids are being carried out in different cities to apprehend them, an official spokesperson said here.

Apart from Agrawal, arrest warrants were also issued against three other accused — Superintending Engineer Jitendra Sharma, former Superintending Engineer Mukesh Goyal, and a private individual, Sanjeev Gupta.

In case the warrants are not executed, the ACB will initiate legal proceedings for the confiscation of their properties, the spokesperson added.

The cases were registered by the ACB in 2024 following a prolonged investigation into the alleged scam, which involved irregularities such as forged billing, approval of tenders in an irregular manner, and the awarding of works on the basis of forged certificates and documents.

Irregularities in works worth more than ₹960 crore have been detected in the scam, ACB sources said. At least nine officers and retired officials were arrested last month.
