Amid Iranian retaliatory strikes on US Military bases across the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Airports on Saturday suspended flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) until further notice.
In a statement shared on X, Dubai Airports said, “Dubai Airports confirms that all flight operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) are suspended until further notice.”

It further advised passengers not to travel to the airport and suggested that they contact their airlines directly for updates. “We appreciate the cooperation of our guests. Further updates will be provided as we continue to monitor the situation,” the statement added.

An Air India Express flight bound for Dubai was denied landing permission amid the ongoing war situation in the Middle East region. The aircraft had departed at around 12:45 pm today, with 145 passengers on board. However, it was turned back mid-journey following the restriction.
According to the airport director, the flight was diverted to Tiruchirappalli International Airport.
The developments came shortly after Israel launched ‘Operation Lion’s Roar’, a joint military offensive with the help of the United States, against Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the attacks on Iran are aimed at removing the “existential threat” posed by what he called “the Iranian terrorist regime”.
In response, Iran launched barrages of missiles towards Israel and struck American bases in the Middle East. One person was killed in Abu Dhabi after missile debris fell on a residential area, the Defence Ministry of the United Arab Emirates said.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed “a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles”. It said that the UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted several missiles.
