The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a massive ‘Badlav Rally’ in Moga scheduled for March 14, aimed at challenging the current political landscape in Punjab. union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to address the gathering, marking a significant push by the saffron party to establish itself as the primary alternative to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Punjab BJP working state president Ashwani Sharma, while making the announcement, claimed that the citizens of Punjab are disillusioned with the current administration and are looking toward the BJP to usher in a period of stability and growth. Sharma noted that the rally coincides with the AAP government completing four years in power on March 16, a tenure he characterized as a period of failed promises and administrative decline. He alleged that the state government, which he described as being directed from Delhi, has retreated from nearly every electoral guarantee made to the public.
Raising serious concerns over the internal security of the state, the BJP leader alleged that the law and order situation has collapsed. He cited frequent incidents of daylight shootings, the targeting of prominent athletes, and extortion threats reaching even small-scale shopkeepers. Sharma further criticized the government for the deteriorating state of the Punjab Police, claiming the force has been diverted toward political vendettas rather than maintaining public safety, leading to unprecedented security lapses such as attacks on police stations.

The BJP also highlighted a deepening fiscal crisis in the state. Sharma pointed out that various government departments, including the Power Board and Punjab Roadways, are struggling to pay salaries and pensions due to financial mismanagement. He accused the ruling party of failing the farming community on MSP commitments and overseeing a decline in basic infrastructure, stating that even road repairs have been neglected over the past four years.

Concluding his address, Sharma expressed confidence that the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections would witness the formation of a BJP “double-engine” government. He asserted that the people of Punjab are ready to oust the current regime to restore the state’s legacy of development and peace.
