Bulldozers or bulldozer action have come to be synonymous with the BJP state governments back home. Authorities in BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have used bulldozers to demolish structures, including houses, shops and other illegal constructions, owned by accused in cases of communal disturbance, sexual violence etc.

However, the trend was likely started by Yogi Adityanath when he became the CM of the state nine years ago.
This is what the diaspora members also spoke about during their interaction with the Indian media in Japan.

“The CM said in the last nine years, no untoward incident has happened in Uttar Pradesh. The message is very clear: he believes tough action needs to be taken to maintain law and order. Bulldozers are a symbol of that,” said one member.
Another diaspora member told Aaj Tak news channel: “Before 2017, there was jungle raj and darkness in UP. Yogi ji have brought Ram Rajya. ‘No curfew, no danga, UP mein sab changa’ has been his slogan. We want Yogi ji’s Japan tour to be successful. He is targeting investment in UP for development.”
A third person said: “People sporting bulldozers on their T-shirts are not just from UP but from other states as well, including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir.”
“The message for Baba (Yogi Adityanath) is: Baba tum bulldozer badao, hum tumhare saath hain,” added a fourth diaspora member.
