Once accused of inaction, the Delhi Jal Board, over the past one year, has transformed to the extent that currently, it is able to get works to the tune of Rs 2,100 crores sanctioned in a day, said Water Minister Parvesh Verma.

He stated that after reaching out to Delhi villages, colonies, and all the nooks and corners of the city, he discovered that the previous AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal failed to get crucial water and sewerage works done during the past eleven years. He further claimed that the same water board is now able to get projects worth Rs 10 crore per constituency or a village cleared done in a smooth manner.

Verma said there are no roadblocks or issues such as lack of funds for public works. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta provides financial support for the projects whenever the department approaches her with public welfare being the priority.

He said it has been a year since the government was formed and all the public representatives are working dexterously to fulfil the commitment towards transforming Delhi into a beautiful capital city. The national capital has witnessed a positive change during the past year, entering into a new phase of development.

According to the minister, the projects of the water board that have been launched recently will strengthen services like water supply and also provide sewerage connections to all the places that were left out earlier.

On Wednesday, water supply and sewer system projects worth Rs 2,100 crore were launched by CM Rekha Gupta which will provide permanent solutions the decades-old issues.
