After CM Yogi, deputy CMs of UP meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

After meeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday morning met both Deputy Chief Ministers — Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak — separately. Though passed off as formal courtesy calls, these meetings have heightened political activity amid speculations of a possible cabinet expansion and organizational reshuffle in the state.

According to sources, the RSS chief met with both leaders separately for about 10 minutes each on Thursday morning. Earlier, at around 8 pm on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was closeted with RSS chief for about 30 minutes at the RSS office complex in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow.

The RSS chief was in Lucknow on a two-day visit, and Wednesday was the last day of his stay. The meeting between the Chief Minister and the RSS chief took place privately behind closed doors. This meeting is considered significant amid the current political situation and speculation about potential changes at the state level.

While officially described as a courtesy call, the frequent meetings between the Chief Minister and the RSS chief have fueled discussions in political circles.

Political sources believe that the role of the RSS Parivar will be crucial in view of the upcoming assembly elections in 2027. The RSS chief’s recent increased focus on Uttar Pradesh and his frequent visits for various programs are being seen as indications in this direction.

Political experts say that such meetings are considered crucial for electoral strategy, organizational strength, and government-organization coordination. Consequently, the meetings between the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers, and the RSS chief have given rise to new speculations in the state’s politics.
