Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday made a snide remark at Delhi’s air quality while lauding UP for its clean environment. Referring to the increasing air pollution in the national capital, Yogi said it feels like a gas chamber.
Calling the situation dire, CM said, “Life has become suffocating in Delhi. It feels like being in a gas chamber. Above 400 in the Air Quality Index, breathing is difficult, and there is a burning sensation in the eyes. Doctors advise those suffering from asthma, as well as the elderly and children, to stay indoors. What kind of life is this?”

Contrasting it with the air quality of Uttar Pradesh, CM highlighted, “The environment here is quite good; there is no pollution. Without pollution, there are fewer diseases. Whenever pollution exists, it harms the lungs. If our supply of oxygen is compromised, the entire body suffers.” He stressed that there is such a wonderful environment in Gorakhpur.
Yogi Adityanath also appealed to the citizens to pay attention to cleanliness. He said, “It is the responsibility of the public to pay attention to cleanliness.” He urged people not to throw garbage in the open and to avoid the use of one-time plastic.
UP CM was addressing the public at the inauguration ceremony of the Kalyan Mandapam (Convention Centre) in the district of Gorakhpur. Yogi also distributed certificates to allottees of the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Low Income Group) categories.
