The Chief Minister, while appreciating their contribution to keeping Delhi clean and beautiful, assured them that their demands would be seriously considered and the government would take necessary steps to resolve their problems. On this occasion, Delhi government Cabinet Minister Ravindra Inderaj Singh and MLA Harish Khurana were present,” the CMO Delhi further said.

In May 2022, the three existing civic bodies—East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC)—were re-unified into a single entity as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Reportedly, the MCD is one of the largest municipal bodies in the world, providing civic services to more than 20 million people of Delhi. It occupies an area of 1397.3 sq. kms., which is subdivided into 12 zones—Centre, South, West, Najafgarh, Rohini, Civil Lines, Karol Bagh, SP-City, Keshavpuram, Narela, Shahdara North, and Shahdara South.
