A big-budget and ambitious project

Mounted on a budget of around Rs 75–80 crore, ‘O’Romeo’ is among the most expensive projects of Shahid Kapoor’s career. The film is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office to be considered a hit. It also stands out as one of Vishal Bhardwaj’s most ambitious directorial ventures so far.

Vikrant Massey’s promise to Vishal Bhardwaj

Vishal Bhardwaj revealed that Vikrant had agreed to be part of ‘O’Romeo’ years ago, at a time when he was still finding his footing in the industry. Even after achieving massive success with ‘12th Fail’, the actor chose to honour his earlier commitment.

According to Vishal, Vikrant told him that watching ‘Maqbool’ played a major role in inspiring him to become an actor. This special appearance, which Vikrant shot over 8–9 days, was his way of giving back. Vishal added that Vikrant’s performance adds strong emotional weight to the film.

Tamannaah’s role and commitment

Vishal Bhardwaj also shared that Tamannaah Bhatia agreed to join the film without charging any remuneration, despite the film’s tight budget. While her role is brief, it plays a key part in revealing an important twist in the story.

Tamannaah immediately agreed to the project and ended up shooting for nearly 12 days, more than initially planned. She also took part in workshops and rehearsals to fully prepare for her character. Vishal noted that her dedication left a lasting impression on the entire team.

Cast, crew, and release date

Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the film features Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, and Disha Patani in key roles.

Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘O’Romeo’ is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on February 13, 2026.
