Leh gets its first public green space at Choglamsar
The Leh city of Ladakh on Monday received its first public green space with the inauguration of the restored and redeveloped Choglamsar Protected Forest, on the banks of the River Indus.
Delhi LG VK Saxena inaugurated the 59th Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally, kicking off the grand event. Over 100 vintage and classic cars, including Rolls Royce, Mercedes, and Bentley, are currently parading through the city streets.

Delhi witnessed a spectacular display of automotive history as Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena inaugurated the 59th Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally on Sunday.
The rally began at 10 am from the iconic Statesman House on Barakhamba Road, in the heart of the city. This attracted car lovers eager to witness some of the oldest and most elegant vehicles in India.

The Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally is one of India’s oldest automobile events. It was first held in Delhi in 1964 and later introduced in Kolkata in 1968. Over the decades, it has grown into a celebration of timeless engineering and design. Enthusiasts preserve cars from decades past and showcase them to the public during this event.
This year, more than 100 vintage and classic cars participated, creating a dazzling spectacle on Delhi’s roads.
Among the highlights are a 1936 Rolls Royce, 1926 Studebaker Erskine, 1906 Renault Freres, 1938 Mercedes, 1937 Wolseley, 1932 Baby Austin, 1919 Citroen Torpedo, and even a 1914 John Morris fire engine from the Rail Museum.
The rally also features smaller vintage vehicles, post-war classics, and cars from other cities. This gives Delhiites a rare opportunity to see these engineering marvels up close.
