Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav, supporting West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, demanded a high-level probe into the plane crash involving Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He questioned whether the plane was in good condition and visibility was clear, so how did the accident happen? This is a matter for investigation.

He said that the airplanes that are flying should be in good condition, and travel should be safe. Akhilesh Yadav was speaking to the media during his visit to Kannauj on Friday.
The SP president demanded that air travel be made safer, saying that if the dream of a developed India is being envisioned, then all new airplanes should be introduced. The aircraft should be properly maintained, and there should be no negligence in maintenance, he added.
While commenting on the census, Akhilesh Yadav said that all castes should be counted in the census.
“A column for caste counting should be included. A caste-based census will reveal the population of each caste. This will make it easier to ensure rights and respect for every caste,” he demanded.
In response to a question, Yadav said that the BJP government has insulted Shankaracharya Ji.
“The government has no answer to what Shankaracharya Ji has said and the government is deliberately insulting Shankaracharya Ji,” he said.
“The Chief Minister calls himself a Yogi, yet he did not allow Shankaracharya Ji to take a bath. The BJP is insulting all sections of society,” he said.
In response to another question, Yadav said that the BJP is scared of the power of the PDA (Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak – Backward Classes, Dalits, and Minorities).
He alleged that in Kannauj, a BJP leader said that they have removed three lakh votes from the voter list and will remove more.
“Samajwadi Party workers are working hard in the SIR (Special Intensive Revision). I would tell the workers to be vigilant; otherwise, the BJP people will manipulate the votes in collusion with the officials and the Election Commission. The BJP wants to remove our votes from the voter list,” he further alleged.
