After Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati sat on a dharna outside his camp at the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, several political leaders have come out in his support, and many saints and seers have also extended their support to the Shankaracharya.
BJP’s firebrand leader Uma Bharti is also among his supporters. She had tweeted her support for Shankaracharya and said that the administration cannot question whether anyone is Shankaracharya or not.

Meanwhile, former Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela, who was in Prayagraj today, also expressed his support for Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati.

He said, “We are also with Shankaracharya ji and are supporting his protest. We demand that the state government resolve this matter soon and take action against the guilty officers and police personnel. The way the Shankaracharya Maharaj’s disciples and followers were treated is reprehensible. We have come to Prayagraj to offer our full support to the revered Maharaj ji.”
Vaghela took a dip in the Sangam and offered prayers to the river Ganga.
