The 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference, which served as a major platform for the exchange of experiences, dialogue, and collective resolve among legislative institutions from across the country, concluded in a dignified atmosphere here on Wednesday.
During the valedictory ceremony, themes such as strengthening democracy, the primacy of public interest, and the transformed administrative identity of Uttar Pradesh emerged prominently.

On the occasion, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh highly praised Uttar Pradesh’s Vision 2047 Document, describing it as an inspiration for all.
Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, through sacrifice, discipline, and continuous public engagement, has clearly presented before the nation the image of a changing Uttar Pradesh and a strong administrative system.
Addressing the concluding session of the conference, Harivansh termed the event historic and inspirational. He said that the experiences and innovations shared by presiding officers and officials from legislative assemblies across the country and Parliament have provided valuable learning opportunities, which will serve as a guide in strengthening India’s parliamentary and democratic processes in the future.
He added that whether it is the legislature or the government, the collective objective of all is to contribute to national development through dialogue and democratic processes.
Praising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, the Deputy Chairman said the manner in which the Uttar Pradesh government developed the Vision Document of Developed Uttar Pradesh: 2047 after continuous and in-depth deliberations is truly inspiring. He described the document as an excellent example of charting a development roadmap through democratic dialogue and participation.
Harivansh also lauded the initiatives of the Assembly Speakers of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan aimed at increasing legislators’ attendance in the House and using social media to take legislative proceedings to the general public.
He said that the shared experiences and innovative practices of presiding officers from across the country would serve as guiding principles to make parliamentary and legislative proceedings more effective nationwide.
In his address, Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said that the guidance of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla provides strength and direction to all. Welcoming presiding officers and representatives from various states, he said that the legislature is the strongest pillar of democracy, as it consists of representatives directly elected by the people.
Raising issues of public interest, steering the state on the path of progress, and conveying public expectations to the government are the foremost responsibilities of the legislature.
Mahana said that several important suggestions emerged during the conference from the presiding officers. Over the past few years, the government has worked effectively. While agendas may differ, the goal remains the same—public welfare and development.
With the participation of all delegates, Uttar Pradesh’s profile will reach the entire nation. He urged the delegates to share Uttar Pradesh’s work culture, administrative model, and experiences of democratic traditions in their respective states.
