Jharkhand on Monday began its participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos with a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening international partnerships and exploring long-term investment opportunities.
The state delegation, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, held structured interactions with global corporations, international business councils, and institutional partners, positioning Jharkhand within broader global economic and policy discussions.

According to an official statement, the engagements on the opening day were held at the India Pavilion and the Jharkhand Lounge, focusing on collaboration in industrial manufacturing, technology, sustainability, and institutional cooperation.
Key meetings included discussions with senior leadership from Tata Steel, during which Jharkhand’s historical role in India’s industrial development and its transition towards advanced and sustainable manufacturing were highlighted. Talks with Hitachi India centred on infrastructure development, energy systems, and technology-driven solutions, while interactions with Tech Mahindra focused on digital transformation, innovation ecosystems, and skill development.
The delegation also interacted with representatives from Bloomberg APAC, the Sweden India Business Council, and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, exploring avenues for investment facilitation, global market integration, and cross-border cooperation.
Senior officials of the World Economic Forum also met the Jharkhand delegation, reaffirming the state’s intent to remain engaged with global platforms shaping long-term economic and policy discourse.
An interaction with the Women Political Leaders network underscored the state government’s emphasis on inclusive leadership and gender-responsive development as part of its governance approach.
Officials said visits to technology pavilions on the opening day provided insights into emerging innovations and future-oriented solutions relevant to Jharkhand’s industrial and developmental priorities.
As Jharkhand marks 25 years of statehood, the state’s participation at WEF 2026 reflects an effort to move beyond regional outreach towards sustained global engagement, with a focus on responsible investment, sustainable development, and future-ready economic growth.
