Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP wants to manipulate the voter list through the SIR (Summary Revision) process.
“The BJP is again engaged in creating fake votes and is desperate to desecrate the democratic system,” he said.

Akhilesh Yadav warned that if BJP members tamper with the voter list, FIRs will be registered against those involved in creating fake votes, including officials and employees. The format of the FIR is being sent to all Samajwadi Party BLAs (Booth Level Agents) and booth in-charges, he said.
Addressing a large number of party workers and leaders from various districts of the state at the Samajwadi Party state headquarters here on Tuesday, he said to form a Samajwadi Party government in 2027, party workers should unite, go door-to-door, and contact people to inform them about the party’s policies and programs.
Yadav appealed to the people of the state to be wary of the BJP’s conspiracies. He said that the people and voters of the state are not with the BJP. “The BJP is acting like a land mafia. BJP members are illegally encroaching on government and poor people’s land across the state. Corruption and looting are at their peak and corruption is rampant in every department. The BJP government has crossed all limits of corruption. The BJP will be nowhere to be found in the 2027 assembly elections,” he said.
The SP president said the SIR being conducted for the voter list is essentially the NRC (National Register of Citizens). The work that belonged to the Ministry of Home Affairs is being done by the BJP government through the Election Commission. “Even after the SIR, many flaws are coming to light in the voter list. The chief minister himself has admitted that four crore votes are being removed. The BJP is trying to manipulate the voter list. There is a huge difference between the figures of the Central and State Election Commissions regarding the voter list,” he added.
He said as per the Central Election Commission, there are 12.56 crore voters in the voter list, while the State Election Commission’s voter list shows 12.69 crore voters in rural areas alone. Adding the number of urban voters to this figure brings the total number of voters to over 170 million. How is it possible that the number of voters is different when the same BLOs (Booth Level Officers) and other officials and employees are responsible for preparing the voter list?
On this occasion, hundreds of Samajwadi Party workers and leaders present reiterated their resolve to form a Samajwadi Party government in the state in 2027.
