Bradley Cooper is making headlines again, and this time it’s not just for his latest film. The ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star recently addressed the buzzing speculation that he’s gone under the knife (or, plastic surgery), though he kept things cheekily vague.
Caught off-guard on the podcast
On Monday’s episode of the ‘SmartLess’ podcast, Cooper joined co-hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes for a lively chat.

When Arnett was asked about a little-known fact about his co-star and co-writer on ‘Is This Thing On?’, he couldn’t resist poking fun at the swirling plastic surgery rumours.
“I said, ‘Well, there’s a lot,’” Arnett admitted, laughing. “And then I was gonna say… because we keep reading it everywhere… everybody thinks Bradley’s had plastic surgery. Everybody keeps saying that. I’m like, ‘What people don’t know is that he hasn’t!’”
That’s when Cooper jumped in hinting that the rumours had caught him a little off guard. “Some people came up to me in the last couple of weeks, and they’re like, ‘Oh, you look good!’” he said.
Arnett gets protective
Arnett didn’t hold back, jokingly expressing frustration at all the chatter. “People say that all the time, and it’s a hilarious thing,” he explained. “Everybody thinks they know. You read that stuff, and it’s just… you know, bulls**t.”
NY Film festival sparks speculation
The buzz around Cooper’s looks intensified during the 2025 New York Film Festival in October, where ‘Is This Thing On?’ premiered. Red carpet snapshots featuring Cooper alongside Arnett and Laura Dern fueled online chatter that he might have had a facelift or other cosmetic tweaks.
Social media exploded with opinions, but the actor seemed unfazed.
Critics love the film, regardless of the gossip
While gossip swirled, the movie itself stole the spotlight. ‘Is This Thing On?’ has received widespread praise, with ‘Rolling Stone’ calling it “a totally unexpected, left-field triumph.”
Cooper not only directed but also co-wrote the dramedy with Arnett and Mark Chappell.
The film follows Alex Novak (Arnett), a newly single dad who dives into stand-up comedy after separating from his wife, Tess (Laura Dern). It’s Cooper’s third outing as a director, following the 2018 hit ‘A Star is Born’ and 2023’s ‘Maestro’.
