Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood has called on former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal to apologize for what he described as “wrong and misleading statements” regarding the deployment of government school teachers in the city.
In the letter dated January 5, Sood rejected Kejriwal’s allegation that teachers were being assigned duties related to counting stray dogs, calling the claim incorrect and a misrepresentation of facts. He stated that the government circular related to the matter is already in the public domain.

Sood said that given Kejriwal’s background as a former Chief Minister, such statements cannot be dismissed as a misunderstanding. He alleged that the remarks appear to be a deliberate attempt to derail the smooth implementation of an important public safety initiative.
Accusing the Aam Aadmi Party of indulging in what he termed “shoot-and-scoot politics,” Sood said such conduct creates unnecessary turmoil, undermines public confidence, and disrupts governance.
The minister asserted that he would not allow misinformation to interfere with the welfare of children or the functioning of schools. He urged Kejriwal to take responsibility for spreading what he called disinformation and to issue a public apology to the people of Delhi.
Sood further said that responsible political discourse requires restraint, honesty, and respect for truth, and appealed to Kejriwal to refrain from making false and misleading statements in the future.
