Teen sensation Anahat Singh continued her impressive run on the international junior circuit, advancing to the women’s semifinals of the British Junior Under-19 Open Squash Championship at the University of Birmingham.

The top-seeded Delhi player produced a composed performance in the quarter-finals to overcome Egypt’s Barb Sameh 11-4, 10-12, 11-9, 11-3. She will now face another Egyptian, third seed Malika El Karasky, for a place in the final.

India also had reason to celebrate in the boys’ section, with second seed Aryaveer Dewan reaching the Under-17 semi finals after surviving a tense five-game battle against Egypt’s Yassin Kouritam. Dewan prevailed 9-11, 11-3, 10-12, 11-9, 12-10 in a closely contested quarter-final.

Anahat’s march to the last four saw her dominate Egypt’s Malak El Maraghy 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 in the pre-quarter-finals, following an equally commanding second-round win over Hong Kong’s Wing Kai Gladys Ho, 11-1, 11-3, 11-3, after receiving a first-round bye.

The Birmingham showing adds another highlight to what has been a breakthrough phase for the teenager. In 2025, Anahat climbed to a career-best world ranking of 28 in just her second season on the PSA Tour, highlighted by wins over multiple top-20 opponents.

Earlier this month, she claimed the HCL Squash Indian Tour 4 title in Chennai, edging former world No. 10 Joshna Chinappa in a gripping five-game final. The victory followed a similar triumph over Chinappa at the Daly College SRFI Indian Open in Indore in November, where Anahat secured her 13th PSA title after a 55-minute battle.
