India’s rising dominance in squash was once again underlined as Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh clinched top honours at the Asian Squash Federation Awards 2025.

Currently ranked World No. 25, Abhay has built a strong resume with consistent performances across major events, including medals at the Asian Games and titles at the Asian Squash Championships. He was also part of the Indian squad that clinched the country’s first-ever mixed team World Cup title last year.
Anahat, ranked World No. 20, has similarly impressed on the international circuit. The young prodigy claimed a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Cairo in 2025 and played a key role in India’s gold-winning campaign at the mixed team World Cup, in addition to her medal-winning performances at the Asian Games and Asian Championships.
Notably, the last time Indian players featured among the ASF award winners was in 2022, when Saurav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa bagged the men’s and women’s top honours, respectively.
The duo’s recent form has further reinforced their growing stature. Earlier this month, both Abhay and Anahat clinched the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, at the Indian Open 2026.
In the men’s final, Abhay produced a dominant display to defeat compatriot Veer Chotrani in straight games. While the opening two games were closely contested at 11-9 and 11-8, Abhay raised his level in the third, using sharp angles and powerful shot-making to seal the match 11-4.
Anahat, meanwhile, showcased her class in the women’s final against Egypt’s Hana Moataz. She raced through the first two games 11-5 and 11-6 with her pace and deception. Although her opponent fought back to take the third game 11-9, Anahat regained control in the fourth, closing it out 11-6 to secure the title.
With consistent performances and major accolades, both players continue to lead India’s charge on the global squash stage.
