Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has strongly responded to a past threat made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and Leader of Opposition K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), putting the remarks on the official record and warning of a firm response.
Recalling KCR’s 2021 statement, in which he allegedly threatened political opponents while criticising the Centre and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Reddy said, “We will not just skin them, but we will cut their tongue,” asserting his government’s unwavering commitment to Telangana’s development and the welfare of its farmers.

Addressing the Assembly Speaker, the Chief Minister emphasised that while criticism is a democratic right, questioning the government’s loyalty and dedication to the state would not be tolerated. “You may remove this from the records, but I am officially making this statement to register it in the minds of the public,” Reddy said.

Revanth Reddy has frequently accused KCR’s party of mismanagement and corruption, particularly in areas concerning irrigation projects and farmer schemes. This statement too comes amid ongoing political tensions between the Congress-led government and the BRS.
Reddy’s remarks triggered an immediate protest from BRS legislators, who staged a walkout from the Assembly, demanding an apology. The incident underscores the growing acrimony between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS.
