The District Election Officer (DEO) of Nagarkurnool in Telangana has dismissed reports and social media posts claiming that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is registered as a voter in two different Assembly constituencies.
In an official clarification issued on Tuesday night, the Nagarkurnool Collector and District Election Officer said the Chief Minister is not enrolled as a voter in Achampet Assembly constituency or anywhere else in Nagarkurnool district as of July 14, 2026.

The officer said false information about the Chief Minister’s voter registration had been widely shared online, creating confusion among the public.
No question of double voting, says DEO
The DEO made it clear that since Revanth Reddy is not registered in Nagarkurnool district, there is no case of dual voter enrolment or double voting involving him.
The statement also explained that because no voter enrolment exists in Nagarkurnool, there was no Enumeration Form printed or distributed in the Chief Minister’s name during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Reports triggered the controversy
The clarification came after several media reports claimed that Revanth Reddy’s name appeared in two separate Assembly constituencies that fall under different Parliamentary constituencies.
According to those reports, the Chief Minister was listed as a voter in the Kodangal Assembly constituency, which is part of the Mahabubnagar Parliamentary constituency. At the same time, his name was also reportedly found in the Achampet Assembly constituency, which comes under the Nagarkurnool Parliamentary constituency.
The reports further claimed that both entries carried the same Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number, leading to questions about possible duplicate voter registration.
State fact-check handle issued explanation
After the reports gained attention, the Telangana government’s official X account, FactCheck_Telangana, released a statement explaining the situation.
According to the post, the Election Commission had described the appearance of the Chief Minister’s name in two electoral rolls with the same EPIC number as an “electoral roll anomaly.” It said the issue was already being addressed as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The statement added that the correction would be carried out by the concerned District Election Officer following the Election Commission of India’s prescribed procedures.
It also clarified that the presence of the same EPIC number in two electoral rolls does not automatically mean a person has the right to vote in two different constituencies.
Family requested Kodangal registration to continue
The government statement further said that the Chief Minister’s family had informed election authorities that they wanted to keep the voter registration in Kodangal constituency.
They also requested officials to remove the entry from the Kondareddypally electoral roll, according to the clarification.
