The ‘Delhi Shabdotsav 2026′, is being held from January 2 to 4 at the National Stadium. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will inaugurate the literary event.
According to organisers, the festival aims to highlight India’s cultural, literary, and ideological consciousness.

The three day festival will feature over 100 prominent speakers, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. It will also include showcase of more than 40 books that will be released, along six cultural performances, and two poets’ meets.

Delhi is getting ready for a big cultural celebration as the city prepares to host Delhi Shabdotsav 2026, a brand-new literary and cultural festival announced by Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture and Language, Kapil Mishra, on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference, Delhi’s Minister of Art, Culture and Language Kapil Mishra said the festival will bring together writers, thinkers, artists, students and readers on one common stage.
According to him, this is the first time the Delhi Government is organising such a wide and inclusive event that blends literature, culture and ideas in one place.
Delhi Shabdotsav: Date, time, venue
Delhi Shabdotsav 2026 will be held at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium and will run for three days, from 10 am to 10 pm each day. The entry will be completely free.
The festival will begin with a special inaugural ceremony on January 2, where Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will be the chief guest. The opening event will also be attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with several other senior leaders and dignitaries.
Books, poetry and performances
Delhi Shabdotsav 2026 promises packed schedule. Over three days, the festival will host more than 40 book releases, six grand cultural performances, two major Kavi Sammelans.
Evenings will be filled with music and performances. Popular artists like Hansraj Raghuwanshi, Hardeep Kaur, folk singer Prahlad Singh Tipaniya will lead. Classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam and Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, poetry sessions, and special programmes like Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan will also be part of the celebrations.
