The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 continues to gather momentum as several prominent Indian cricketers feature in the premier domestic 50-over competition, which is being held from December 24 to January 8 across five cities in India.
A total of 32 teams are competing this season, divided into four groups of eight, with matches spread across the Elite and Plate divisions. The tournament has attracted significant attention after the BCCI directive mandating centrally contracted players to represent their state sides when not on national duty.

As a result, star players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, among others, are expected to be in action during the tournament.

Second round of matches – December 26
The second round of matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 will be played on Friday, December 26, with 19 matches scheduled across venues in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jaipur, Alur, Bengaluru and Ranchi. All matches are set to begin at 9:00 AM IST.
