Security forces have launched a massive combing operation in the Majalta area of Udhampur to track down the three Pakistani terrorists who have reportedly escaped the cordon after killing a Special Operations Group (SOG) constable and injuring four others in a gunfight.

Security forces have launched a massive combing operation in the Majalta area of Udhampur to track down the three Pakistani terrorists who have reportedly escaped the cordon after killing a Special Operations Group (SOG) constable and injuring four others in a gunfight.

The combing operation has simultaneously been launched in the connected districts of Udhampur, Doda, and Kathua.
SOG jawan Amjad Pathan attained martyrdom while fighting the Pakistani terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit.

The security forces, including the Army, CRPF, SOG, and intelligence agencies, have already launched a coordinated operation to flush out Pakistani terrorists from the mountain regions of the Jammu division.

Several Overground Workers of terror outfits have been nabbed to cut the food supply chain of these terrorists, who were hiding in the mountains.

Meanwhile, DIG (Jammu, Samba and Kathua Range) Shiv Kumar on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing operational preparedness in Billawar, Samba, Ramkot, and Manwal areas of District Kathua.

In view of the present security scenario, DIG Shiv Kumar, along with Kathua SSP Mohita Sharma; SSP Samba Varinder Manas; Dysp Arjun Singh Chib; Amir Khan, SP (Operations), Billawar; Mukund SP, OPS Kathua; CO CRPF, SDPO Billawar, and SHO Billawar, reviewed the ongoing operational preparedness in Billawar in view of the Firing incident of the Soan area of District Udhampur.

The DIG emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and security in the area. He directed all officers to remain extra vigilant.

The DIG highlighted the need for robust coordination between different security agencies to address any potential challenges that may arise in the future.

He directed that additional forces be mobilised in sensitive and vulnerable areas to prevent any untoward incident. He also stressed the significance of intelligence gathering and timely sharing of information to prompt any security threats.

The DIG reviewed the overall law and order situation and readiness of the police force in terms of manpower. He instructed the officers to maintain high visibility in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that security checks and patrols are intensified.

The DIG also conducted a joint meeting with Army authorities and ensured that the Jammu and Kashmir Police are always with them to maintain peace in the region.
