The Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) has concluded its 61st Annual Seminar 2025 in New Delhi after three days of focused discussions centered around driving Atmanirbharta in fertilisers, policy reforms, nutrient stewardship, green production technologies and digital marketing innovations.

The Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) has concluded its 61st Annual Seminar 2025 in New Delhi after three days of focused discussions centered around driving Atmanirbharta in fertilisers, policy reforms, nutrient stewardship, green production technologies and digital marketing innovations.

The seminar, which concluded on Friday, brought together senior government officials, international experts, industry leaders, global suppliers, scientists and farmer representatives to shape a collective roadmap for the country’s nutrient future.

Speaking at the seminar, Rajat Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, said, “As custodians of the nation’s food security, we must embrace a future where inorganic and organic solutions coexist, precision technologies reach every village, and innovations like nano-fertilizers are pursued not as commercial products, but as national missions.”

Mishra said, “The shrinking land, rising demand, and changing climate leave us no choice—our policies, science, and industry must converge to build a resilient nutrient ecosystem that protects both our farmers and our future.”

S. Sankarasubramanian, Chairman, FAI, and MD & CEO, Coromandel International Ltd, said the fertiliser industry is working to strengthen domestic capacity, promote balanced and precise nutrient application, and ensure farmers have timely access to advanced technologies.

“We also remain focused on the development and responsible marketing of novel solutions, including nano fertilisers, ensuring their benefits are clearly and effectively communicated to the farming community,” Sankarasubramanian said.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Director General, ICRISAT, Hyderabad, commended the seminar for fostering meaningful dialogue on sustainable nutrient management and advancing innovations that directly benefit farmers.

Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Director General, FAI; Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Dr. Siba Prasad Mohanty, MD, HURL, also attended the seminar.
