Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav, on the death anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar proposed a new national slogan — “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Samvidhan.”

Posting on his social media account on Saturday, Mr. Yadav said there should be no debate or dispute over the Constitution.

“On this one issue, everyone should stand together. The Constitution is not just a book; it is the very foundation of our nation,” he emphasized.

Mr. Yadav said the saddest situation for a democracy is when Parliament has to debate on saving the Constitution, whereas the Constitution actually mandates discussions on taking the country forward. “A crisis for the Constitution is essentially a crisis for democracy,” he said.

He added that those who wish to weaken the Constitution also wish to weaken democracy. “The Constitution grants rights, and those who want to take away these rights are the ones who try to undermine it,” he noted.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister reiterated, “I have said it many times before, and I am saying it again today—the Constitution has the power to do good for the country and to keep it on the right path.”

He said the country must run according to the Constitution, not personal agendas.

“The Constitution is the guiding light of PDA because it guarantees the dignity and respect of every individual. It protects society from exploitation and oppression and holds wrongdoers accountable. That is why the last hope for PDA lies in the Constitution,” he said.

Yadav added that the Constitution is the nation’s protective shield—if the Constitution survives, protection survives. “For PDA, safeguarding the Constitution is a matter of life and death. For those who do not believe in it, the Constitution is nothing more than a blank page,” he said.

He added that for those who want to rule by making the Constitution powerless, even the slogan of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Kal’ becomes hollow.

Akhilesh Yadav concluded, “In the end, I want to say: If the Constitution is saved, justice will be saved. That is why we once again need a decisive movement to protect the Constitution.”
