Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the 60th edition of the All India Conference of Director Generals and Inspector Generals of Police, scheduled from November 28 to 30 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a government release Thursday said.
The annual conference is a key platform for senior police officials and security administrators from across the country to address pressing internal security challenges and strategise for a safer India.

Themed ‘Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions,’ the three-day event will feature comprehensive discussions on critical issues such as Left Wing Extremism, counterterrorism, disaster management, women’s safety, and the use of forensic science and artificial intelligence in policing. A highlight of the conference will be the Prime Minister presenting the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service.
“This conference is pivotal in reviewing the progress made so far and formulating forward-looking strategies to build a ‘Surakshit Bharat’ in line with our vision of ‘Viksit Bharat,’” said a senior official from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The gathering fosters open dialogue among India’s top police brass, focusing on operational, infrastructural, and welfare challenges while sharing best practices in crime prevention and internal security. This year, select senior officers at the DIG and SP levels will also participate, bringing fresh insights to the discussions.
Since 2014, under PM Modi’s guidance, the conference has evolved and been hosted in diverse locations, including Guwahati, Rann of Kachchh, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, New Delhi, Jaipur, and Bhubaneswar. The choice of Raipur for the 60th edition highlights the government’s commitment to inclusive regional participation in shaping national security policies.
Union Home Minister, National Security Adviser, Ministers of State for Home Affairs, DGPs of States and Union Territories, and heads of Central Police Organisations are expected to attend, underscoring the event’s critical role in India’s internal security framework.
PM Modi’s continued engagement with the conference demonstrates his focus on strengthening India’s policing capabilities, promoting innovation, and safeguarding the nation’s security and well-being.
