Former Bollywood actor and model Celina Jaitly has taken a major step in her personal life by filing a domestic violence case against her husband, businessman Peter Haag. The complaint was submitted before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Andheri, Mumbai. This marks the first formal legal move in a matter the actress says has troubled her for many years.
The case came to light after Celina’s lawyer, Niharika Karanjawala, spoke to the media and revealed details of the petition. According to her, Celina has accused Haag of physical and emotional cruelty, manipulation, coercion throughout their marriage.

Allegations of years of abuse
Speaking to ANI, advocate Karanjawala said they filed the complaint under the Domestic Violence Act, highlighting both mental and physical cruelty.
She explained that the alleged abuse was not a recent problem but something Celina had been facing for “many years.”
The actress, known for films like ‘No Entry’ and ‘Golmaal Returns’, has reportedly been suffering in silence, hoping things would improve. But after years of distress, she decided to take the legal route.
The advocate added that Celina had also mentioned being pressured into signing a gift deed for a property in Mumbai, which she claims Haag obtained through coercion. This issue, she said, is already a part of a separate civil case in the Bombay courts.
What Celina Jaitly is asking from the court
Along with the complaint, Celina has requested financial relief. Her petition includes:
– ₹10 lakh per month as maintenance,
– ₹50 crore as compensation for loss of career and income, and
– Another ₹50 crore for pain and suffering.
Her lawyer stated that Celina’s career was at a high point when she married Haag, but he allegedly insisted that she stop working. According to the petition, this decision cost her several opportunities and major earnings.
But the financial claims, her legal team stressed, are not Celina’s biggest worry. Her “foremost concern,” they said, is the well-being of their three children, who are currently living with Haag in Austria. Celina has expressed fear about their emotional safety and future while this dispute continues.
Court issues notice to Peter Haag
After reviewing the petition, the Andheri court verified the documents and issued a notice to Peter Haag, who is based in Austria. The court has asked the alleged to respond by December 12, 2025.
The case has been filed under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2025. The act deals with interim and ex-parte relief. In simple words, this means Celina is seeking immediate protection and temporary orders all while the case moves forward.
Their marriage and family
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag married on September 18, 2010, in a private ceremony at her Mumbai home. The wedding was held according to Hindu rituals in the presence of close friends and family. A few days later, on September 22, the marriage was also registered under Austrian civil law.
The couple has three sons Viraaj, Winston, and Arthur who have largely stayed out of the media spotlight.
