During the journey, devotees will pay tribute to the revered Sikh Guru by reflecting on his teachings, his ideals, and his unparalleled sacrifice in the defence of faith.
CM Gupta bowed before the sangat (devotees) and said that may the Guru’s grace remain upon everyone. She also paid obeisance before flagging off the bus carrying the procession.
According to the Chief Minister, the historic event not only reminds us of the indomitable courage and sacrifice of the Sikh Guru but also inspires people to uphold the values of faith, peace, and equality in society.
She added that his sacrifice stands as a beacon of light for the protection of humanity and the values of truth, not just for the Sikh faith alone.
Gupta said that Guru Tegh Bahadur is revered as Hind Ki Chadar (Shield of India) because he sacrificed his life to safeguard the nation’s religious freedom and dignity.
The CM appealed to all devotees and citizens to spread the message of brotherhood and tolerance in society by following the Sikh Guru’s ideals.
