Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international president Alok Kumar has reaffirmed the right-wing organisation’s commitment to gaining back control of temples.

Speaking on the podcast, The Statesman Talk, Kumar asked, “If gurudwaras and mosques are not under government control, why should temples be?”

He also laid down the action plan to take control of temples, including meetings with chief ministers of all the states.

“We will meet CMs of all states; if the CMs of states don’t meet us, then we will meet Governors of those states, as well as legislators to press for our demand,” he said in the exclusive conversation with The Statesman.

Speaking about the flag-hoisting ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kumar said that the wishes of crores of Hindus will be fulfilled.

He further stated that the main agenda of the VHP is to erect such a temple in the hearts of every Hindu.

He said the organisation will continue to work for this and other core issues, including cow protection, Sanskrit, Vedas.

The VHP will also work towards stopping the alleged love jihad and strengthen its campaign for ‘ghar wapasi’, Kumar added.
