Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accused the Congress of putting hindrances in the way of good initiatives, including the anti-conversion law being taken by the ruling NDA dispensation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national interest.
Dhami, who was on a visit to the pilgrim city on Sunday to attend a function of the Uttarakhand Dharamshala (rest house), made the accusation in response to a newsman’s query about writ petitions filed in the Supreme Court against passage of the anti-conversion laws in the states, including Rajasthan.

The visiting CM said, “Those who have been indulging in appeasement politics for many decades are behind these obstructive tactics.
“They have been trying to block, obstruct or at least cause hindrances for all the good work that should have been done soon after Independence. Since those were not done earlier, Prime Minister Modi Ji has been doing that good work is not being relished by that party and their leaders, he added.
However, the people of the country have understood their intent and are now familiar with their tactics. That is why they (Congress) are being rejected by the people. In the recent assembly polls in Bihar they were defeated. Earlier, in Maharashtra and the Haryana assembly elections too, they were rejected by the voters, he said.
The Uttarakhand CM Dhami hailed the performance of the two-year-old Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government in Rajasthan.
