Renukaji MLA Vinay Kumar has been appointed as Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president.
Kumar resigned from Deputy Speaker’s post on Saturday. He pipped other contenders including Education minister Rohit Thakur and MLAs Kuldeep Rathore, Suresh Kumar, Ashish Butail and Vinod Sultanpuri.

The formal announcement was made late Saturday evening about Vinay Kumar being appointed as the presidentof state Congress.

It is pertinent to mention that the tenure of outgoing president Pratibha Singh is already over.
Kumar’s appointment as Himachal Congress president will boost CM Sulhwinder Singh Sukhu camp.
In a press release issued by AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, it was stated that Vinay Kumar has been appointed as the new HPCC president.
