Nikolai Patrushev, Aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the Maritime Board of Russia, Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss strengthening cooperation in the maritime domain.

The meeting focused on new opportunities for collaboration in connectivity, skill development, shipbuilding, and the blue economy, the Prime Minister’s office said in a post on handle X.

PM Modi conveyed his warm greetings to President Putin and expressed his eagerness to host him in India next month for the 23rd India-Russia Summit. This summit marks a significant milestone, as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

The discussions between Modi and Patrushev emphasized the importance of deepening maritime cooperation, particularly in shipbuilding, port development, and Arctic operations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to building a just, multipolar world order and ensuring global security.
