Gupta inaugurated the upgraded bus terminal at Azadpur, from where 21 major routes will be operational. This is one of the ongoing works undertaken to modernize the city’s public transport infrastructure.

Taking to social media platform X, CM stated, “The upgraded bus terminal with modern facilities at Azadpur has been dedicated to the service of Delhi’s citizens.”

According to the CM, the new modern terminal is a major step towards making the public transport system more passenger-friendly, faster, and safe.

Notably, a total of 116 buses will operate from this particular terminal equipped with modern facilities including a covered walkway, connectivity with the Azadpur metro station through the foot over bridge, a baby feeding room, modern waiting area and others.

Apart from the inauguration of the new terminal, 40 new electric buses were flagged off on the occasion. The CM said the government is adding E-buses to the DTC’s fleet which is a significant step towards making the public transport more environment friendly, and also help in fighting pollution issues.

Notably, with the addition of these new E-buses the total number of such buses have reached 1,390 within eight months.

Delhi’s Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, and MLA Raj Kumar Bhatia were present on the occasion.

This bus terminal, which is connected to the metro station through a foot overbridge, also reflects the vision of intermodal connectivity, which promotes seamless coordination.
