Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the surplus Ravi water proposed to be stored in the upcoming Makoura Pattan Barrage in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district should be shared with Rajasthan in accordance with the 1981 Interstate Water Agreement.
Addressing the 32nd meeting of the North Zone Council in Surajkund, Faridabad, CM Sharma also urged the Centre to ensure the development of a digital elevation model to assess the additional flow of Sutlej–Beas waters into the Pong Dam downstream, following the increase in the reservoir’s gauge (capacity) from 1000 ft to 1400 ft.
