K C Venugopal slams CPM for its anti-Rahul Gandhi remarks
AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal on Saturday accused the CPM of targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to deflect from its own electoral failures and political decline.
Calling the results in Bihar “truly surprising”, Rahul said, “We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the Bihar election results 2025 are “truly surprising” and that the INDIA bloc will “deeply review” its dismal performance in state Assembly polls.
In a social media post on X, Rahul expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan.

Calling the results in Bihar “truly surprising”, Rahul said, “We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning.”

The Congress leader asserted that his fight is “for the protection of the Constitution and democracy.”
He also stated that the Congress and the Opposition’s INDIA alliance will “deeply review this result and make their efforts to save democracy even more effective.”
His remarks came after the Congress-RJD-led Mahagathbandhan was routed in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The BJP-JDU-led NDA registered a landslide victory, winning more than 202 of the 243 seats.
The Mahagathbandhan could manage to win just 35 seats, and the Congress party only 6. Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD secured 25 seats.
