Bomb scare on Air India Express flight; emergency landing in Varanasi

An Air India Express flight from Mumbai to Varanasi made an emergency landing on Wednesday after a tissue paper with the words “Bomb… Good Bye” written on it was found in the aircraft’s washroom.

The cabin crew immediately alerted the pilot, who informed Air Traffic Control (ATC). The flight safely landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, where security agencies were promptly informed.

Upon landing, all 176 passengers were safely evacuated, and the aircraft, along with passengers’ luggage, was thoroughly checked by the bomb disposal squad. No suspicious items were found.

A high alert was declared at the airport following the incident, and further investigation is underway.
