Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ has long fascinated filmmakers with Disney famously bringing the story to life through its 1951 animated classic and Tim Burton’s visually stunning 2010 live-action film, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide. Burton’s follow-up, ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ (2016), further added to the tale’s timeless appeal. Now, Universal’s version aims to offer a fresh perspective on the iconic story.

The original story set in the Victorian era, follows Alice who is a curious young girl who falls down a rabbit hole into a world filled with eccentric characters talking animals and dreamlike adventures.

Carpenter already has some acting experience under her belt with notable roles in ‘Emergency’ (Prime Video), ‘The Short History of the Long Road’, and ‘The Hate U Give’. But this Universal project marks her biggest acting role yet.

Adding to her growing list of achievements, Sabrina Carpenter recently earned six nominations at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. This included Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
