Meanwhile, the investigation has revealed that the i20 car, in which the explosion occurred, was parked near the Red Fort parking lot for three hours before the blast.
An analysis of CCTV footage showed that the car was parked at 3:19 PM and exited the parking area three hours later at 6:48 PM. The vehicle left at a time when the area was particularly crowded.
Police are now examining footage from nearby cameras to identify the individuals who parked the car, entered it, and later came to retrieve it. Authorities are attempting to trace the car’s complete route—from its origin before arriving at the parking lot, to its final movement from the parking lot to the red light directly in front of the Red Fort.

International Condemnation: Bangladesh’s Former PM Sheikh Hasina Denounces Attack
Awami League President and former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued a statement vehemently condemning the “horrific terrorist attack” in New Delhi, which claimed innocent lives. She expressed deep sorrow for the deceased, extended her condolences to the bereaved families, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
In her statement, Sheikh Hasina declared that the “appalling terrorist attack is unacceptable under any circumstances,” emphasising that there is no place for extremist terrorism in the modern world. She accused “terrorist groups, rooted in Pakistan,” of infiltrating networks across countries, including Bangladesh, to carry out attacks in India and undermine regional stability.
“The Bangladesh Awami League gives its full support to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this principled struggle against terrorism,” she said.
She further asserted that such heinous crimes have no place in a civilised world, and that the roots of terrorism must be eradicated completely. “Those who support these terrorist groups in Bangladesh and elsewhere are enemies of humanity, and we strongly denounce them as well,” she added.
Reaffirming her country’s solidarity, Sheikh Hasina stated, “We stand with the people of India and are determined to provide every possible cooperation to India in this fight against terrorism.” She expressed confidence that defeating these groups would uphold justice and human rights, making the world a safer place.
