Kim Kardashian has once again opened up about her journey to becoming a lawyer sharing candidly with her fans that she didn’t pass the California Bar Exam this year. But she isn’t giving up.
The reality TV star and SKIMS founder took the two-day California bar exam on July 29 and 30, and months later, she revealed the results on Instagram. “Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kim joked.

She reflected on her six-year journey toward legal qualification, writing, “Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up. Just more studying and even more determination.”
She also thanked her supporters for their encouragement along the way. “Failing short isn’t failure. It’s fuel. I was so close to passing, and that only motivated me even more. Let’s go!” she wrote.
Kim’s interest in law began in 2018 when she chose an unconventional route to become a lawyer: an apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm. This allowed her to work toward a law career without attending traditional law school.
Her legal journey has been far from easy. In 2021, she celebrated passing the “baby bar” exam, officially known as the First-Year Law Student’s Examination. It took her four attempts, but Kim proudly shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), posting, “OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!”
In her post, she reflected on the challenges she faced. “Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today,” she said. “For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me.”
She also revealed that even top lawyers doubted her path. “I was told this was almost impossible and harder than the traditional law school route,” she wrote. “But it was my only option, and it feels so, so, so good to be here and on my way to achieving my goals.”
