Through efficient planning and prudent resource management, the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has significantly reduced its operational deficit while expanding its services and route network.
Drawing inspiration from Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s “mantra of progress” based on improved management, strict supervision, and optimum utilisation of resources — the RSRTC has succeeded in bringing down its deficit from ₹1,000 crore to ₹300 crore, an official spokesman said here today.

According to the spokesman, two years ago, under the previous Congress regime, the operational deficit had reached a staggering ₹1,000 crore. “This deficit has now been reduced to ₹300 crore by faithfully implementing Chief Minister Sharma’s transparent and passenger-centric policies,” he added.
The state government has been focused on ensuring comfortable and safe journeys for commuters while maintaining strict punctuality standards.
In addition, adherence to safety norms for buses and operating staff, enforcement of discipline and transparency in operations, and regular mechanical maintenance of the bus fleet have contributed to reduced fuel consumption and lower operational expenses, the spokesman said. This improved efficiency, he added, has allowed RSRTC to strengthen its fleet and expand its service network.
In this direction, the corporation has procured 810 new buses, and 352 private buses have been added on a contractual basis to enhance service availability.
The spokesman further informed that RSRTC is now planning to purchase another 800 new buses, which will further enhance passenger comfort and safety during travel.
