Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday renewed his verbal onslaught against the principal opposition Congress for its alleged “indulgence in scams, loot, and appeasement politics “during its tenure.
Hitting hard at the evil of corruption, Sharma assured the people, saying, “Don’t worry! The BJP government will not spare a single individual or group involved in wrongdoing. Every perpetrator will face consequences.”

The CM reminded wrongdoers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s oft-quoted resolve: “Na khaunga, na khaane d; aur agar kisi ne kha liya, toh nikalva bhi lunga.”
Addressing a gathering at the state-level Swachhata Divas function and ‘Shramdaan’ cleanliness drive at the embankment of the historic Jal Mahal here, Sharma said that the Congress has a 70-year-long tradition of corruption and scams. He added that many of its leaders have faced consequences, including punishment and action, with some cases in the state emerging over the past two years as well.
“The corrupt and wrongdoers are already facing consequences and will face even graver consequences in the future. Mind it, this is Modi’s era. No corrupt individual, wrongdoer, or scamster will be spared, I give you this assurance,” the Chief Minister asserted.
“This was public money; it was not meant to be robbed. It was meant for the welfare of the people — the poor, labourers, and farmers — and for investment in government’s schemes, not for siphoning off,” he said.
“However, you (Congress leaders) siphon it off in various ways — I don’t know where all you take it,” Sharma said.
Praising his government, the CM asserted, “We have carried out intensive development and public service, but the Congress has failed to acknowledge our governance and has instead ridiculed and belittled our good work, even when we presented facts and evidence.
“Let me tell them that our party workers and leaders have always remained engaged in the service of the poor and the downtrodden. They treat the poor as God (‘Garib ko Ganeshji maante hain’), whereas whenever the Congress gets an opportunity, it remains indulged in scams, loot, and appeasement politics,” he said.
“That is why the grand old party, which once dictated terms from Parliament to Gram Panchayats, is today witnessing rapid erosion of its base and presence. The situation has become so miserable that wherever the Congress has formed coalitions with smaller regional parties in states, it has not only sunk itself but also jeopardised the future and prospects of its allies,” Sharma said.
“Let me advise them to shun the path of misdeeds and wrongdoings and undertake course correction; otherwise, they will become inconspicuous, and whatever little visibility they still have in a few states will also vanish,” he warned.
