At least 15 persons were killed and three others critically injured in a Tempo Traveler rams into a stationary truck near Matoda in the Phalodi district of Rajasthan on Sunday evening.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Prem Chand Bairwa said 15 persons have died on the spot in the accident. Sitting MLA from Soorsagar Devendra Joshi put the death toll at 18.

The ill fated Tempo Traveler was bringing devotees back Jodhpur (Mathania) after a holy dip on the auspicious day of Ekadashi at Kolayat dham in the Bikaner district when it rammed into the stationary truck near Matoda on the Bharatmala Highway in Phalodi district. Most of the victims were from Soorsagar (Jodhpur).
A police spokesman confirmed the death of 10 women, four children and the driver of their vehicle.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel has put the number of injured at three.
A hospital spokesman said that there are reports that 15 to 16 persons have died and around 15 injured. Seriously injured were being referred to MDM Hospital here.
We have been put on high alert to deal with medical emergencies, accordingly, necessary arrangements for providing medical care to needy injured have been made at our hospital, the MDM Hospital spokesman said.
A Green Corridor has been created between Maroda and Jodhpur for speedy shifting of critically injured to Jodhpur.
Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner Pratibha Singh and other high officials have rushed to the accident spot to supervise the rescue operations.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed all concerned authorities to ensure swift and best possible treatment to injured.
Sharma has expressed grief and sorrow over the deaths of devotees.
