Former Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya has attacked the BJP alleging that Dalit and Muslim communities are being attacked in this regime.

He alleged that, “Chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Bajrangbali’ have now been used as tools to vandalize Muslim homes and mosques. Today, people of one religion have resorted to terrorist activities.”

Talking to media on Saturday Maurya, said, “Dalit and Muslim communities are being targeted. Homes of the poor are being demolished with bulldozers, while criminals associated with the BJP are being given full protection. Law and order has completely collapsed in the state.”
Maurya said the BJP is disrupting the communal atmosphere. He added, “The tomb in Fatehpur was also attacked using the same slogan. A conspiracy was hatched to incite Hindu-Muslim riots by writing ‘I love Mohammad’ on a temple in Aligarh.”

He said, “The NCRB report shows that Uttar Pradesh ranks number one in the country in crime, rape, murder, and caste-related incidents.” He alleged that the situation is similar in BJP-ruled states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Dalits and backward classes are being continuously oppressed. Incidents of rape and murder are on the rise.

” Under BJP rule, the number of lawless elements has risen sharply. The government is protecting criminals, boosting their morale. The Chief Minister neither takes cognizance of incidents nor takes any action. This is why gangsters and the mafia are openly flouting the law,” he charged.

Maurya said, “Two Presidents were prevented from entering the temple. Now a shoe is being thrown at a judge. This is an attack on the country’s justice system and Constitution.” He said that such incidents make it clear that under BJP rule, not only the general public but even the judiciary is unsafe.

Maurya announced that if the person who threw a shoe at a Supreme Court judge is not arrested, a protest will be held outside every district magistrate’s office across the state on November 3.

During this protest, a memorandum addressed to the President will be submitted to the district magistrates, registering protest against the law and order situation, atrocities against Dalits, and government inaction.
